The Co-Chairs

The Enbridge® Ride to Conquer Cancer® is supported each year by a group of dedicated leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to form a committee whose purpose is to recruit corporate teams and sponsors to the event. The Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital is incredibly grateful to these dedicated men and women, many of whom are also participants in and leading fundraisers for The Ride.

In particular, we would like to recognize the leaders of this committee, the Co-Chairs of the 2019 Ride.

Perry Britton
President and CEO
Britton Electric Co. Ltd.

Perry Britton is President and CEO of Britton Electric Co. Ltd., Quebec’s leading electrical contractor, a position that he has held for 40 years. Headquartered in Montreal and serving the province of Quebec since 1948 as well as Eastern Ontario, the company provides a complete spectrum of electrical contracting services for the commercial, industrial, institutional and residential markets.

Perry is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, having earned a Bachelor of Science in electric power engineering and an MBA in 1978, pursuing both degrees concurrently. Shortly after graduation at the age of 21 and following the passing of the Company’s founder, the late Harvey I. Britton, Perry took over the reins of the business. Up until the mid-1990s he practiced a hands-on approach and spent much of his time actively involved in all of the company’s day-to-day operations. Today, Perry oversees the overall direction of the business, developing long-term strategies to maintain the company’s leading position in the marketplace. In addition to his current responsibilities, he continues to maintain close contact with many of the company’s clients.

Perry has long been involved in community and charitable works and presently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation in Montreal, and Hadassah International. He has been a member of YPO since 1990, and through that has travelled extensively over the years.  Aside from devoting himself to work, family and YPO, Perry pursues his many hobbies and passions including travel, scuba diving, and photography, as well as collecting wine and scotch whisky.

Andrew Torriani
President, CEO and General Manager
Ritz-Carlton, Montreal

Monsieur Torriani was first exposed to the world of fine hotels and luxury travel at the age of 10 and literally ‘grew up in the industry’. Andrew’s father was a renowned hotelier in South Africa, and it was under his tutelage that Andrew learned the business of exceptional hospitality.

After working in a variety of positions in the industry throughout his teens, he went on to graduate with both a degree in mathematics from Queens University and a business degree from McGill. After a very successful term as director of Human Resources for Air Canada, Andrew joined Ritz-Carlton in 1996 and has made his home with the Ritz family.

As President and CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Andrew’s self-described mandate is to make the Ritz-Carlton Montreal not only the premier destination in Montreal, but in the country. He firmly believes that the ‘new’ Ritz-Carlton Montreal achieves the perfect balance between a modern hotel and a hotel with relevance and history. “It is important that it retains a strong character, while being very contemporary,” says Andrew.

Andrew, his wife and their three children live in Montreal and are all passionate about and committed to the community. He describes the city as “having European flair, but still very casual in a distinctly North American way – everyone is so well received in Montreal.” Mr. Torriani is confident that the city’s upscale-yet-casual atmosphere is one of the reasons that the Ritz-Carlton Montreal cannot help but appeal to today’s traveller.
