Andrew Rubin is one of Canada’s youngest and most prominent environmental entrepreneur. He is the President of FCM Recycling Inc., one of Canada’s premier electronic waste recycler, with operations in 4 provinces including 2 plants and the head office in Lavaltrie, Quebec. Mr. Rubin is a seasoned financial executive having started his career as a hedge fund analyst and an investment banker. He is actively involved in several social and charitable organizations, is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and sits on the sustainable development sectorial committee of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec.
Andrew Torriani | Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Andrew Torriani was first exposed to the world of fine hotels and luxury travel at the age of 10 and literally ‘grew up in the industry’. Andrew’s father was a renowned hotelier in South Africa, and it was under his tutelage that Andrew learned the business of exceptional hospitality. After working in a variety of positions in the industry throughout his teens, he went on to graduate with both a degree in mathematics from Queen’s University and a business degree from McGill.
After a very successful term as director of Human Resources for Air Canada, Andrew joined Ritz-Carlton in 2006 and has made his home with the Ritz family.
As President and CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Andrew’s self-described mandate is to make the Ritz-Carlton Montreal not only the premier destination in Montreal, but in the country. He firmly believes that the ‘new’ Ritz-Carlton Montreal achieves the perfect balance between a modern hotel and a hotel with relevance and history. “It is important that it retains a strong character, while being very contemporary,” says Andrew.
Andrew, his wife and their three children live in Montreal and are all passionate about and committed to the community. He describes the city as “having European flair, but still very casual in a distinctly North American way – everyone is so well received in Montreal.” Mr. Torriani is confident that the city’s upscale-yet-casual atmosphere is one of the reasons that the Ritz-Carlton Montreal cannot help but appeal to today’s traveler.

Antonio Park | Celebrity Chef
Chef Antonio Park is the popular chef behind these Montreal hot spots: Park restaurant and Sous Chef on Victoria Avenue. He has been a chef in Tokyo, Osaka, New York, Toronto, and Montreal.
His culinary tastes spring from an eclectic childhood being raised by Korean parents in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil. As he says, he is a Latino with kimchi in his blood who is seriously in love with sashimi. He speaks six languages in total including English, French, Spanish, Korean, Portuguese and Japanese.
His family moved to Vancouver in 1990 and a year later to Montreal. When his sister opened the Takara restaurant, Antonio washed dishes, prepped food ingredients and mixed rice for three years. He then apprenticed at another of her restaurants, Tomo, a North Americanized Japanese restaurant. Antonio then went to Toronto and eventually to Japan for three years to perfect his Japanese cuisine.
The Korean flavours Antonio learned from his mother, the South American flavours of his youth and his love for Japanese cuisine were then combined and reflected in the menu at Park, which opened in 2012. The restaurant has been a hit with celebrities like Katy Perry and Neil Patrick Harris.
Antonio opened a new restaurant in Montreal, which will feature his Argentinian cuisine called Lavanderia. He’s also chef to many of the Montreal Canadiens, regularly preparing and sending meals over to them.
Expanding his repertoire out of the kitchen, Antonio is a judge on the hit Food Network Canada series Chopped Canada.
Calin Rovinescu | Air Canada
President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada
Calin Rovinescu has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada since April 1, 2009. Mr. Rovinescu was the Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy of Air Canada from 2000 to 2004, and also held the position of Chief Restructuring Officer during the airline’s 2003-2004 restructuring. From 2004 to 2009, Mr. Rovinescu was a Co-founder and Principal of Genuity Capital Markets, an independent investment bank. Prior to 2000, he was the Managing Partner of the law firm Stikeman Elliott in Montréal, where he practiced corporate law for over 20 years and was a member of the firm’s Partnership Board and Executive Committee.
Mr. Rovinescu was Chair of the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board from 2012 to 2016 and Chair of the International Air Transport Association in 2014-2015. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada, and of the Business Council of Canada.
Mr. Rovinescu holds Bachelor of law degrees from the Université de Montréal and the University of Ottawa and was awarded Honorary Doctorates from both these universities, in addition to the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University), Politehnica University of Bucharest, and University of Windsor. Mr. Rovinescu was named the 14th Chancellor of the University of Ottawa in November 2015. In 2016, Mr. Rovinescu was recognized as Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year.
David Schwartz | ALDO Group
Chief Financial Officer of ALDO Group
David Schwartz is Chief Financial Officer of the ALDO Group. Since joining the ALDO Group in 2010 he has held various operational and financial roles within the organization. Prior to the ALDO Group, David spent ten years in the payments processing industry, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of a high growth, publicly traded payments company. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he spent 5 years in Assurance advisory and Transaction Services advisory roles.
David holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and International Business from McGill University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
David is an avid endurance athlete who competes in marathons and half Ironman triathlons. In 2016, as part of a 4-man team, David completed the Race Across America, an ultramarathon cycling race. He is a member of the Board of Governors of Lower Canada College and, since 2011, has been an active volunteer leader of the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Jewish General Hospital. David is married and has three daughters.
Dominique Vincent | 3Macs, a division of Raymond James Ltd.

Dominique Vincent is a vice-president and portfolio manager at 3Macs, a Division of Raymond James Ltd. She began her career in the field of communications and public relations. In 1996, she moved to the world of finance after earning her MBA. Starting out as an investment advisor at Scotia McLeod, she joined 3Macs in 2001 and went on to earn the accreditation of Portfolio Manager. 3Macs became a division of Raymond James Ltd. in October 2016.
Her career in the financial industry and her commitment as a portfolio manager are rooted in a longstanding interest in the markets and risk management combined with a strong desire to provide a personalized approach in an increasingly standardized world.
An active member of her community, Dominique holds a number of volunteer and board positions. Dominique is a new member of the Advisory Committee of the Raymond James Canada Foundation. A proud graduate of the John Molson EMBA program, she has remained close to JMSB throughout her career, serving on the dean’s advisory board, the Women’s mentoring program, and now as Champion of the 2017-2019 EMBA cohort. Cancer research and education are her two main philanthropic interests.
She first got involved with the Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2014. The 3Macs team was born in 2015 and has grown stronger over the years. In 2016, the 3Macs team completed the Quebec and Ontario rides. Over $200,000 was raised. This year, Raymond James which already had a strong team in British Columbia was represented in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
Dr. Sheldon Elman, M.D. | Persistence Capital Partners

In 1981, Dr. Elman founded what ultimately became Medisys Health Group, Canada’s leading provider of preventive health services. Under his leadership, Medisys delivers private and corporate healthcare services throughout its offices in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Dr. Elman has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s leading corporate medical advisors.
Dr. Elman graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1974 and became a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians in 1976 and continues to be in active practice to this day.
In 2008, he co-founded Persistence Capital Partners, a Montreal-based private equity fund focused on growth and buyout opportunities in Canadian healthcare.
In addition to still maintaining an active medical practice, Dr. Elman is a board member of the CD Howe Institute; a member of the Cercle des Presidents; a member of World Presidents Organization (WPO); a past recipient of E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Quebec. He was recently awarded the prestigious Entrepreneur award at the Gala Les Nouveaux Performants. He has served as a board member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the YPO Healthcare Focus Forum. Believing passionately in supporting healthcare initiatives, Dr. Elman has been the chair of the Gala for La Fondation de la recherche sur les maladies infantiles du Québec; a member of the board of the Canadian College of Family Physician Research Foundation; twice a co-chair of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Ball and twice a co-chair of the Ride to Conquer Cancer (Quebec). He has been appointed a board member of the Jewish General Hospital and most recently since 2015 – a member of the Board of Governors of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.
Dr. Elman can be seen travelling the world’s exotic destinations with his wife, Meryl, over the past 40 years. Being a mentor and business partner to his son, Stuart, and a physician advisor in ‘residence’ to his daughter Elyssa – also a family physician – brings much joy to him. But his most important achievement is being the grandfather and funny friend of 4 wonderful grandchildren.
Eric Ouaknine | Browns Shoes
Director of Retail Experience for Browns Shoes
Eric Ouaknine currently serves as the Director of Retail Experience for Browns Shoes. As part of this role, Eric is responsible for the renovation and construction all Browns and B2 locations as well as the end-to-end customer experience across digital and brick and mortar sales channels. Eric integrates the strategies of the Logistics, IT and E-Commerce teams in an effort to provide the best and most streamlined customer experience.
Prior to joining Browns, Eric was a founding member of Blueslice Networks, a telecom leader in subscriber data management. As Blueslice’s VP Sales, Eric’s dedicated leadership was vital to its seamless expansion into European markets. He also played a central role in Blueslice’s acquisition in 2010 by Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC).
Eric has participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the last 6 years. After joining Browns Shoes 4 years ago, Eric spearheaded the creation of the Browns Shoes cycling team, which has raised close to $600,000 since its inception. He remains committed to supporting this amazing cause for years to come.
Howard Dermer | Counsel
Howard Dermer is counsel to the firm having retired from active practice on December 31, 2009. He joined the firm in April 1975 and was a member of the Litigation Practice Group with an important focus on leasing, real estate and commercial litigation matters. He headed up the Litigation Practice Group until 1996 when he was elected Managing Partner of the firm. He has attended and participated in numerous conferences in both Canada and the U.S. on litigation matters, including franchising, leasing and real estate, construction law and financial accountability. As well, he completed a certified course on Mediation offered by the Quebec Bar Association and at Harvard Law School.
Jean-Christophe Bédos | Birks Group inc.

Jean-Christophe Bédos is currently the President and CEO of Birks Group Inc., formerly Henry Birks & Sons, Canada’s 138 year old premier luxury jewelery brand. He is also the President and CEO of Mayor’s Jewelers, Inc., a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of Birks Group Inc.
Mr. Bédos came to Birks from the high-end jeweler Boucheron International (Kering), in Paris, France where he served as President and CEO, following a distinguished career with the Richemont Group in Paris and London and with the iconic jeweler of Cartier.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Birks Group Inc. and Mayor’s Jewelers, Inc., the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, and l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Mr. Bédos is a Member of the London Business School Global Advisory Council. He is an active participant on the committee for “the Future of Sainte-Catherine Street” Project and has participated as co-chair for fundraising campaigns of the McCord Museum and l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.
Mr. Bédos is a skilled brand builder within the luxury retail sector, who brings a very relevant background having spent his entire career for more than twenty-eight years within the high-end watch and jewelry industry. Mr. Bédos earned a MSc in Business Management from London Business School – Sloan Fellowship Masters Program, with Distinctions in Marketing and Brand Management; a BA in International Commercial Law from University of Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne; BA (Honors) in European Business from Trent University, Nottingham, England; BA in Business Administration from Toulouse Business School, Toulouse, France.
Jonathan Ross Goodman | Knight Therapeutics Inc.

Mr. Goodman was the co-founder, President and CEO of publicly-traded Paladin Labs Inc., which was acquired in 2014 by Endo International In. (NASDAQ:ENDP) for $3.2 billion. Under Mr. Goodman`s leadership, $1.50 invested in Paladin at its founding was worth $142 nineteen years later. The same day that Paladin was sold, Mr. Goodman started a second publicly-traded specialty pharmaceutical company, Knight Therapeutics Inc. (TSE:GUD), which has now raised $685 million of equity in 5 rounds of financing all at increasing valuations. Since inception in February 2014, Knight has generated $180 million of net income. For the last 21 years, Mr. Goodman has devoted 15% of his time on Tikkun Olam, which has included fielding the largest team in the Province of Quebec for the Ride to Conquer Cancer for 7 consecutive years to filling Place des Arts for the Ted Wise ORT/Jewish Education Gala for 6 consecutive years raising $5+ million to support Jewish education.
Mr. Goodman is a recipient of the Globe and Mail’s Top 40 Under 40 award, Federation CJA’s Sam Steinberg Award for entrepreneurial excellence and Koach Award for leading campaigner, UIA Federations of Canada National Young Leadership Award of Distinction, the Special Recognition Award by Brain Injury Canada, Bernard Gross Leadership Award by ORT Montreal, was appointed Honorary Chairman of the Ride to Conquer Cancer and was named Quebec Entrepreneur of the Year in the Life Sciences by the National Post and Ernst &Young.
Mr. Goodman holds a B.A. with Great Distinction from McGill University and the London School of Economics with 1st Class Honors. Additionally, Mr. Goodman holds an LL.B. and MBA from McGill.
Marc Parent | CAE Inc.
President and Chief Executive Officer of CAE Inc.
Marc Parent was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of CAE in August 2009.
Mr. Parent joined CAE in February 2005 as Group President, Simulation Products, responsible for the Company’s civil simulation products business as well as the design, manufacture and support of products for the Company’s civil and military training businesses. His role was expanded in May 2006, when he was appointed Group President, Simulation Products and Military Training & Services. In November 2008, he was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all four of CAE’s business segments and new growth initiatives.
Mr. Parent has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry. He started his career in 1984 with Canadair as an engineer on the Challenger and Canadair regional jet programs. Beginning in 1993, he held positions of increasing scope in aircraft product development, starting as head of the Challenger 604 program development team; in 1995, he headed the Q400 turboprop aircraft development program; and in 1998, he was promoted to Vice President, Program Management, with responsibilities covering all Bombardier aircraft development programs.
From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Parent held numerous executive positions within Bombardier Aerospace, leading a number of facilities and product lines. In 2000, he held the position of Vice President, Operations, at Bombardier’s de Havilland site in Toronto; in 2001, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Operations of the Toronto facility; in 2003, he held the position of Vice President and General Manager, U.S. Operations, with responsibilities encompassing Learjet facilities in Wichita and Tucson; and in March 2004, he returned to Montreal as Vice President and General Manager of Challenger 300, 604, and 850/870 programs as well as the CRJ 200 Regional Aircraft product line.
Mr. Parent was honoured in 1999 as one of “Canada’s Top 40 under 40” leaders. He was also selected as a 2010 Fellow of SAE International for his leadership and contributions in aircraft product development and for his successes at Bombardier and CAE. He received the 2005 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Engineering Leadership Award, and is a past recipient of the SAE Forest R. McFarland award. In February 2011, Marc Parent was named Canadian Defence Review’s first ever Defence Executive of the Year. In 2016 he was awarded the Prix Mérite 2016 of the Association of Polytechnique Graduates.
In January 2016, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Canada. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) since October 2007, and was the AIAC’s Chairman of the Board from September 2009 to August 2010. Mr. Parent held the position of Chairman of the Board for Aero Montreal, the Quebec Aerospace Cluster, from October 2008 to April 2010 and continues in his role as a member of its Board of Directors. He is a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI).
A native of Montreal, Mr. Parent is a graduate of mechanical engineering from Montreal’s École Polytechnique and of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by École Polytechnique for his contributions to the aerospace industry in Montreal and internationally. Mr. Parent is an active pilot holding an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) from Transport Canada.
Phil Anzarut | BDC Capital

Phil Anzarut is a late stage venture capital investor and a Partner in BDC Capital’s Co-investment Fund. He is a member of several boards where he acts as a key influencer and committee chair, taking responsibility for aligning strategies to grow companies to scale. Prior to his current role, Phil was a Partner in BDC Capital’s Diversified Fund. Phil began his career as an investment banker with HSBC Securities and subsequently as a corporate development professional with TELUS. Phil is also a member of the board of TBayTel and chair of the strategy committee.
Phil is a urachal cancer survivor, having been diagnosed and treated in 2012. Urachal cancer is a very rare form of cancer with a low survival rate, low awareness and low research funding. With the support from his wife and friends Phil started the Bikus Urachus cycling team in 2013 to raise money and awareness for urachal cancer. In 2014, he launched the Urachal Cancer Research Fund at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital – the only fund in the world dedicated to fighting this disease. The fund’s first project, a DNA sequencing study on urachal tumours, was launched in 2015.
Bikus Urachus has raised over $760,000 in its first 5 years.
Ralph Masella | KPMG

Mr. Masella has 26 years of M&A transaction and accounting, audit and advisory experience with KPMG. He currently serves as the leader of the KPMG Transaction Services practice in Montreal, Canada. Ralph is the leader of the KPMG Transaction Services practice and is also part of the Business Valuation team, two practices of KPMG’s Transaction Advisory group in Montréal. He has a vast amount of experience with respect to mergers and acquisitions, business valuations and financing having participated in the realization of more than 220 transactions in various industries including aerospace and defence, telecommunications, information technology, manufacturing and distribution. Mr. Masella brings a vast amount of technical expertise to help with complex accounting and valuation issues.
Mr. Masella provides merger and acquisition assistance to both corporate and financial investors.

Previous roles include COO at Mpact Immedia, CBO, BCE Emergis, CEO, Surefire Commerce. Rory holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University.

Danny Minogue, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Minogue Medical Inc., is a former elite ski racer and an alumnus of the Alpine Canada Can-Am team in the 1970’s. Mr. Minogue started his career in the surgical supply business in 1981 with US Surgical before founding Minogue Medical Inc. in 1986. With more than three decades of managerial experience in the surgical supply business, he has grown Minogue Medical into one of Canada’s leading distributors of surgical supplies and robotic surgery devices (da Vinci surgical system). Minogue Medical also provides nutritional and supplemental products for weight conscious patients as well as energy drinks for high performance athletes.
In 2011 & 2013, Mr. Minogue was recognized for his outstanding achievements and nominated as a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
With a strong commitment to community involvement, Mr. Minogue was elected chairman of the Board of Alpine Canada in September 2011and co-chaired Montreal’s 2012 Ride to Conquer Cancer – an event with more than 2,000 participants that raised $7.0 million.
Édith Cloutier | Rogers

As President at Rogers in Quebec and Vice-President, Sales, Enterprise and Public Sector, Édith Cloutier is a member of the Executive Committee of the Quebec region and Ottawa. She oversees and coordinates the implementation of Rogers business plan across the province of Quebec and in Ottawa.
She leads a team of managers, representatives and technical advisors in every region who devote themselves exclusively to companies’ needs. Their offering covers a wide range of business solutions that draw on a large set of innovative, highly scalable services.
Édith is a dynamic, inspiring, customer-driven and results-oriented leader, with more than 20 years of experience in the communication solutions industry, mainly in management or executive positions, as well as in sales, solution implementation and customer service for small, medium and large businesses.
Édith graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Business

Mario Rigante is Senior Vice-President, Quebec Division, Canadian Personal & Business Banking.
With more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, Mr. Rigante joined BMO in 2002 and has held increasingly senior roles, including District Vice-President, Laval & Northwest Quebec, and his most recent appointment as Vice President, Commercial Banking for the Montreal Metropolitan area. Mr. Rigante’s strong sales leadership has translated into excellent, long term business results during his time at BMO. His focus on enhancing the customer experience has been exemplary, and he has a proven record of leading highperformance teams. Mario Rigante has an MBA from Dalhousie University and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Concordia University and is a member of the order of CPAs. He was appointed to his current role in June 2014.
Mr. Rigante is actively involved in the community and sits on the board of directors for St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, he is Governor for the En Coeur Foundation, an organization that supports children with heart conditions and their families and he also sits on the Centraide Cabinet.
